FCCJBL Flash June 7, 2010 Dear Fans, Hello Baseball Fans!!!! Championship Sunday is upon us this coming Sunday.  It is our last day of games and we have a very full schedule and note the special times for this Sunday.  First, we need to complete the rained-out Minor League playoff game between F.D. Rich and Stop & Shop.  That game was suspended after 2 innings in a 0-0 tie when the rains came last Sunday.   The game will be continued from the 3rd inning onward starting at 11 am on Sunday on the Newfield South Field. We will then have our annual Championship Sunday Pre-Game Festivities at 12:30 pm.  Please come on time.  All the kids will gather on the Newfield North Field (MajorLeague Field) arranged by team.  We have some very special guests.  Included are former Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy who will throw out the first pitch and Jonathan Cahr of the What's Up Band and the Ma Nishma Choir who will lead us in the singing of the National Anthem and Hatikvah.  Then we will have our Intro and T-Ball Finales, the Minor League Consolation game followed by the Minor League Championship, and the Major League Championship. We will also hold a Baseball Memorabilia Sale and a short Live Auction courtesy of Mike Riccio Sports LLC / Legends of the Game.  Proceeds from the auction and sale will benefit the league and contribute to our defibrillator fund. FCCJBL Flash June 1, 2010 Dear FCCJBL, Hello Baseball Fans!!!! Tonight is our FCCJBL / BRIDGEPORT BLUEFISH game.  Game time is 7:05 pm at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport.   As the forecast call for possible showers/tunderstorms, I thought I would share the Bridgeport group sales rain policy.  See below.   Bridgeport Bluefish Rain Policy...   Brideport Bluefish                   (Source: www.bridgeportbluefish.com) In the event that four and a half innings of a Bluefish game have not been played, your ticket can be exchanged at the Box Office for a ticket of equal value to any future home game played at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, based on availability.   GROUPS/PICNICS/BIRTHDAYS: Groups may reschedule as a group, let individuals redeem their tickets on their own or a combination of the two. Picnics, if the food has been served, may redeem their tickets just as a group would. Picnics, if the food has NOT been served, will work with your Bluefish sales associate to either book another date or receive food vouchers that can be used if the picnic area is not available. Birthdays follow the same guidelines as picnics.   THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND: Just because it is raining at your house doesn't mean it is raining at the ballpark!! If the Bluefish play an official game and a fan decided not to come out to the Ballpark at Harbor Yard because of inclement weather at the fans house they cannot exchange that ticket.  Updates on the status of games can be found On the Official Bluefish Website On our many local radio partner stations If it is raining before the scheduled game start time... The Bluefish Tarp Crew has been hard at work protecting the field against the elements.  This being the case, if the rain stops before the scheduled start time, the game will continue as planned.  If the rain continues into the scheduled game time, Bluefish management will invoke a rain delay. About Tonight's Game...   (Bridgeport, Conn. - June 1, 2010) - The Bluefish finalize a two-game series against the Lancaster Barnstormers tonight at 7:05 p.m. The Ballpark at Harbor Yard gates open at 6:05 p.m. as Kid's Eat Free, courtesy of TD Bank. All kids (12 and under) will receive a free hot dog, bag of chips and 12 oz. fountain soda.     (Commish's comment: hot dog is *not* kosher...)   Kevin Mannix takes to the mound for Bridgeport. FCCJBL Flash May 31, 2010 Dear FCCJBL, Hello Baseball Fans!!!! What a gorgeous day we had on Sunday for our games and the BBQ.  Thanks to everyone who helped with serving, setup and cleanup and thanks the Okuns and Rothmans for lending us their tables.   We still have tickets remaining for the Bluefish game on Tuesday night (June 1st).  Email me if you are interested and I will leave tickets for you at the will-call window at the stadium.  For everyone who is going, we will meet at our seats - we are all together in 1 section. This coming Sunday, we have the Minor League playoffs (see schedule below) and a Major League double-header, as well as our usual T-Ball and Intro Games.
