| Dear Fans, Hello Baseball Fans! You may be wondering, what's with the numbers in the subject line of this FCCJBL Flash email. I know that I am wondering. Wondering big time. 47 / 135 When I see 47, I think of a baseball glove flinging Jesse Orosco when the Mets won the World Series in 1986. 135... I had to dig to find some significance of this number. "STS-135" was the last Space Shuttle mission - The space shuttle Atlantis launched on July 8, 2011 and was the very last mission. But here's why I am talking about these numbers... As of today, we only have 47 registered players for the 2012 season. 135 is the average number of players we've had over the last 2 seasons. (And this is NOT my last mission) These numbers make it impossible to plan for this season which begins play on Sunday, April 22nd. That's just 18 days away. If you have already registered your kids, thank you. I can't wait to meet you on the fields. If you have not registered but plan to, please do so as soon as you can - and at least drop me an email to indicate that you plan to be back with us this season.
