OFF-SEASON NEWS

We hope everyone had a great summer and we everyone a Shana Tova - a Happy and Healthy New Year. Here's some news since you've been away:
1 - Jewish Baseball Fanfest October 3rd at Temple Sholom
2 - AED/Defibrillator Purchased
3 - Jewish Heritage Day at CitiField is a hit

JEWISH BASEBALL FANFEST - OCTOBER 3RD AT TEMPLE SHOLOM
Temple Sholom of Greenwich along with Community Partners: FCCJBL, Bi-Cultural Day School, Solomon Schechter of Westchester and Westchester Fairfield Hebrew Academy present a Jewish Baseball Fanfest on Sunday, October 3rd from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Panel discussion with 3 retired Jewish major league players: Ron Blomberg, Art Shamsky and Elliot Maddox with facilitator Richard Dietsch, Sports Illustrated writer and editor.

Also, fan fest games, memorabilia, and ball park style dinner. Special meet and greet and gift for sponsors. All tickets bought in advance will be entered to win a special prize.
Tickets $18/adult, $10/child (12 and under).
Sponsorship at $500 and $1,000.

AED/DEFIBRILLATOR PURCHASED
The FCCJBL has purchased and taken delivery of a brand new Philips Heartstart Defibrillator. Thanks to the many contributors to the fund-raising campaign who helped make this a reality. If you have not yet fulfilled your pledge, please do so as soon as possible.

The league will be organizing a community-wide effort for CPR and AED training over the winter. Stay tuned for details.

JEWISH HERITAGE DAY AT CITIFIELD IS A HIT
Almost 300 people from the jewish communities across Fairfield County were in attendance for Jewish Heritage Day CitiField. Jonathan Cahr's What's Up Band and the Ma Nishma Choir rocked the CitiField house with 2 songs and the singing of the National Anthem. Everyone was treated to an all-too rare Mets victory as well.

In between the sound check and actual performance, the kids and chaperons met with retired New York Met Ed Kranepool. Mr. Kranepool signed baseballs and build-a-bears (as it was also Build-A-Bear Workshop day) and answered questions from the kids and adults.
